Chlorella microalgae has been consumed for decades because of its nutritional properties. Now, Algenuity’s patent protected Chlorella colour variants are available in a range of natural colours including white, yellow and red. Our Chlorella is exempt from EU Novel Food Regulation owing to a history of safe use.

Algenuity's Chlorella is broadly enabling in the plant-based proteins food and beverage sector as a plant-based source of alternative protein with neutral taste and flavour for clean label, allergen free formulation. These versatile ingredients also satisfy the requirements for natural, gluten-free, non-GM and Vegan diets.

Flavour, colour and freshness

Great neutral flavours, colour and freshness demanded by formulators are created by the gentle drying process, which also retains the functionality demanded when replacing dairy and animal proteins. Algenuity's Chlorella whole-cell ingredients naturally contain antioxidants, beta-glucan, B and E vitamins including vitamin B12, magnesium, manganese, zinc and healthy plant-based omega-6 oils.

Our mission is to deliver the world's most sustainable and scalable plant-based protein-rich ingredients. We manufacture our Chlorella by microbial fermentation year-round using a glucose carbon source that can be derived from any locally available plant-based starch including wheat, maize, pea, potato, etc. As such, our process and geographic flexibility support in country manufacturing and supply chain resilience.
