Algenuity Cultivating Next Generation of Algal Biotechnologists

Algenuity welcomes its 2013 summer intern class.  Algenuity's mission of "cultivating algal biotech" also extends to investing in the next generation of algal biotechnologists.   This year's intern class is a diverse group representing leading UK academic institutions.

 

Finn Stirling (left) recently graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry from University College London, and he is serving as a Algal Research Intern.  This summer, he is supporting Chief Research Scientist Andrew Spicer on further research on Algenuity's algal genome modification platform.  Finn is from Brighton, England.

 

Verity Cooper (middle) is a Psychology undergraduate at University of Birmingham.  Verity is working with Michael Yates in the Business Development team and working on ways of commercialising Algenuity's technology.  Verity is from Bedford, England.

 

Rodrigo Iglesias (right) is a graduate in Genomic Biotechnology from State University of Nuevo Leon in Mexico and is currently studying an MSc in Sustainable Bioenergy from University of Nottingham.  Rodrigo is working with Algal Research Scientist Joanna Szaub on synthetic biology applications in microalgae.  Rodrigo is from Monterrey, Mexico.
